China's ceramic industry is expected to transform and strive for stability in development

If you want to speed, it won't reach! This is an ancient training, but it has been repeatedly committed.

At 20:34 on July 23, Beijing D1 train from Fuzhou in the south and D3115 train from Hangzhou to Fuzhou in the south, a rear-end collision occurred in the Xiayu section of Wenzhou, causing 39 deaths and 192 injuries. The next day, Tong Dahuan, the columnist of the Oriental Morning Post commentary and former editor of the Youth Journal of China Youth Daily, published a blog post: "China, please slow down, stop the pace of flying, wait for your people, Wait for your soul, wait for your morality, wait for your conscience! Don't let the train derail, don't let the bridge collapse, don't let the road become a trap, don't let the house become a dangerous building. Slow down, let each one Everyone has freedom and dignity. Everyone is not left behind by the 'era.' Everyone has successfully and safely arrived at the end! "Europe, Europe, Japan and other countries have used the trains and high-speed rail dreams that have been realized for hundreds or even hundreds of years. We have only achieved it quickly in more than a decade. However, an unexpected tragedy paid a heavy price for the high-speed rotation of the motor car.

China's speed is hailed as a miracle of the world. The same is true in the ceramics industry, and the speed of development is amazing. Judging from the history of ceramic tile development in the past 20 years, China's ceramic tile production from 1995 to 2000 was basically between 1.5 and 1.8 billion square meters. However, since 2001, production has soared: over 2.1 billion square meters in 2001, 3.25 billion square meters in 2003, 4.1 billion square meters in 2005, over 5 billion square meters in 2007, and 6.6 billion square meters in 2009. In 2010, it was close to 8 billion square meters. China's ceramic tile production has been ranked first in the world since the mid-to-late 1990s, and in recent years it has surpassed half of the world. In 2010, the annual per capita ceramic tile in China has exceeded 5 square meters and is at a high level in the world.

Although the ceramics industry market is currently in a downturn, affected by factors such as the real estate market, this situation will continue until 2012, but Chinese ceramics still do not meet the current growth rate. A few days ago, the "Twelfth Five-Year Development Proposal for Building Sanitary Ceramics Industry" proposed that the total output of China's building ceramics will reach 11 billion square meters in 2015, an increase of nearly 50% over 2010. If still calculated according to the current population of 1.37 billion, by 2015 China's per capita ceramic bricks will have a monthly ownership of 7.08 square meters. According to industry experts, in 2010, only four ceramic electromechanical enterprises in Foshan sold 1,500 ceramic presses, which is enough to allocate 400 production lines. According to the production capacity of new equipment, it will directly increase the annual production capacity by more than 2 billion square meters.

However, along with the rapid increase in production capacity, at the same time as becoming a ceramic powerhouse, most of China's ceramic enterprises can still only obtain profits with low-value products and demographic dividends at the expense of the environment and the sale of resources. In addition, a large number of problems have emerged. For example, enterprises lack independent innovation capability, product homogeneity is serious, and international market competitiveness is not strong. Product patent infringements are emerging one after another, and tile color varieties are often banned; product quality is difficult to guarantee, and a large number of industries are well-known. Brands have been dismissed due to quality problems; ceramic products have high energy consumption, serious environmental pollution, over-exploitation of clay resources; low profit levels in the industry; products are mainly in the middle and low-end, with low added value and low selling prices in the international market.

Objectively speaking, China's ceramic industry has been consciously transitioning from labor-intensive to knowledge-intensive. At a critical moment in the transformation of the industry, if the values of seeking for quantity are not corrected in time, the industry problems will become more and more serious, and the future fate will be even more worrying.

At present, Chinese ceramics has become a well-deserved ceramic country, but it is not a ceramic power. At this moment, our entrepreneurs must not only see achievements, but also realize the potential crises in development, work harder on qualitative changes, take environmental protection as the premise, focus on product quality, and take technological innovation as Glory, with a high value-added pursuit, first strong and then bigger, steady and win. Only in this way can China's ceramic industry be able to dominate the world.
