Zinc is one of the essential nutrients for plants, and corn is a zinc-sensitive crop. White zinc seedlings are prone to zinc deficiency in maize, and growth or even seedling death occurs when zinc deficiency is severe. The application of zinc fertilizer can overcome the symptoms of zinc deficiency. Within the critical line of zinc application, 1 to 2 kg of zinc sulfate is applied per 1/15 hectare, and corn can increase yield by 12.5%.
I. Reasons for zinc deficiency: The zinc in corn itself is mainly supplied by soil. There are two main reasons for the shortage of zinc in the soil. First, the soil itself has low zinc content. Second, the soil pH is too high, and the calcium carbonate content in the soil is too high. Poor soil permeability affects the absorption of roots, resulting in zinc deficiency. The soil available zinc in Shandong Province is less than 0.6ppm for the zinc application threshold, and the maize plant with zinc content as low as 20ppm can be used as an indicator of zinc deficiency.
Second, the method of zinc application: Zinc application of zinc is the best effect of zinc fertilizer. If zinc is found in the growth period, the spraying effect is also good. There are generally five ways:
1. Base application: Use 1 to 2 kg of zinc sulphate per 10 hectares to mix 10-15 kg of fine soil or acupoint application.
2, topdressing: every 1 / 15 hectares with 1 ~ 2 kg of zinc sulphate mixed fine soil 10 ~ 15 kg, in the seedling period to jointing period or point application.
3. Spraying: Spraying with 0.1% zinc sulphate solution twice in the seedling stage to jointing stage, each time interval is 7 days, the spray volume per 1/15 hectare is 50-75 kg, and when the concentration exceeds 0.4%, Fat damage occurred.
4, soaking seeds: soaking with 0.02 ~ 0.05% zinc sulfate solution for 6 to 8 hours. A solution of more than 0.1% has an effect on germination.
5. Seed dressing: Calculate the amount of fertilizer with 4 to 6 grams of zinc sulfate per kilogram of seed. First dissolve the zinc sulphate in a sprayer or watering can, then add an appropriate amount of water, then stir the seeds while spraying, and dry them before seeding. In addition, when using zinc fertilizer, it should be noted that the combined use of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer can play a greater role. The suitable amount of nitrogen and phosphorus is 7.5 kg per 1/15 hectare of nitrogen and 4 to 7.5 kg of phosphorus pentoxide.
