The 2nd International Diamond Conference hosted by DW (Diamond at Work) was held in Rome, Italy from April 19 to 20, 2007. Jia Yang, the vice chairman of the Superhard Materials Association, and the general manager of Nanyang Zhongnan Diamond Co., Ltd., accompanied by Li Zhihong, the secretary general of the association, attended the meeting.
More than 300 delegates attended the conference, from 35 countries and regions: the United States, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, France, South Africa, Japan, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, Russia, Israel, China, Taiwan, China. Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Portugal, India, the Netherlands, Denmark, Iran, Botswana, South Korea, Spain, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Ukraine, Finland, Turkey, Canada. There are about 20 Chinese and Chinese in universities and research institutions around the world. The 10 people who participated in the meeting in the name of China, including 4 in Taiwan, 2 in Hong Kong, 2 in Shanghai, and 2 in mainland China. The two mainland Chinese who were arranged by the conference to make a paper presentation failed to attend the meeting. Among the participants were university professors, laboratories and other research institutions, as well as DI, E6, Korea Rijin, Sumitomo, and Saint-Gobain of France, and other world-renowned superhard materials and tools companies.
The conference received more than 280 abstracts of papers, and arranged nearly 90 papers to be presented in four venues, including 4 keynote reports, and a theme report was arranged every half day. The content involves the development of superabrasives and tools and stone and construction tools, PCD, PCBN, CVD, grinding tools, oil and gas field tools, cutting tools, gem-quality single crystals, high-power electronic devices and other fields. Most of the papers focus on cutting-edge technologies and latest research results in superhard materials and tools. Among them, there are many papers on CVD, PCD and PCBN, which are among the hotspots of today's research. Participation in the conference will be of great benefit to understanding the latest achievements and trends in the industry.
In addition to the normal participation in the meeting, General Manager Jia Pan conducted a large number of side events, visited the leader of the famous company such as Tom Erixon, the president of Sandvik, which acquired the DI, the chairman of the Indian Diamond Association, the Chinese scientist, and the Russian-American research laboratory. Gem-level single crystal scientists and other famous people showed the newly developed and mass-produced 30/35 diamond single crystals of coarse and 8/10 grain size and size 2mm in Central South China, which attracted great interest and attention from the participating scientists. . In particular, Russian-American scientist Boris Feigelson believes that it is a great achievement to synthesize 2mm diamond without using crystals directly by ordinary static pressure method. According to his previous concept, it is impossible. He specially requested samples and prepared to return. The United States conducts research and demonstrations. In fact, after we returned to China, we heard the telephone praise of American customers who did not attend the meeting.
Mr. Jia also discussed the development of 2mm and coarse diamond single crystals, fading, market and other related experts and learned a lot of new information, and conceived the development path of Zhongnan Diamond and China Diamond. Without returning to China, a larger particle single crystal test program was formed, and the remote control company technicians conducted the first round of tests. The agility of thinking, fast action, high efficiency, amazing!
Taking advantage of the opportunity of the meeting, Mr. Jia also banqueted all Chinese Chinese representatives, which not only enhanced friendship and understanding, but also communicated information and explored the possibility of future cooperative research. They were invited to participate in the 5th Zhengzhou International Superhard Materials Seminar to be held in the fall of 2008. Everyone happily accepted the invitation and said that they would try their best to arrange the work and attend the meeting.
The meeting was a success and the harvest was huge. The regret is that the number of participants in China is too small, which is not commensurate with the status of my diamond producing country.
