Precautions for using ammonia water as base fertilizer

In the past, fertilizing crops, ammonia is often used as base fertilizer or top dressing. If it is not applied properly, it will often burn crops. When is ammonia water applied?
The nitrogen content of the ammonia water is 14% to 17%, and the nitrogen in the ammonia water is in an unstable state of binding. Therefore, the ammonia water is easily volatilized and has a pungent odor. When the ammonia reaches a certain concentration, it will burn the stems and leaves of the crop. The higher the concentration of ammonia water, the higher the temperature, the more the ammonia gas volatilizes, and the more severe the seedlings are. Ammonia water is alkaline reaction, has strong corrosiveness, and is highly corrosive to metals such as copper, aluminum and iron. Ammonia water has strong irritating damage to human mucous membranes such as eyes and respiratory tract. Therefore, attention should be paid during storage, transportation and application. Safety.

Ammonia should pay attention to three preventions during storage and transportation, that is, anti-volatilization, anti-leakage and anti-corrosion. The container filled with ammonia water can be used in plastic drums, tile jars, plastic bags, such as iron drums or wooden boxes, and the inner wall of the container must be coated with preservatives such as asphalt or tung oil. Long-term storage of ammonia water in large quantities can be done by bricks, cement, etc.

"Measure the soil away from the water, not the soil." That is, the application of water to dilute ammonia water, generally diluted 20 to 30 times, because the more concentrated ammonia, the more volatile; not leaving the soil is deep application of cover soil, generally requires more than 7 cm of cover soil. If the ammonia is diluted in the field, it must be blended at the downwind to prevent the ammonia from diffusing and infesting the crop. 1. Ammonia water can be used as base fertilizer and top dressing, but it is not suitable for seed fertilizer or seed dressing. When applied in paddy field, it can be diluted several times and then directly poured into the field. Immediately apply the surface fertilizer. It is best to use ammonia water fertiliser to apply ammonia water under the soil layer. 2. If topdressing is used, do not pour on the leaves. Use an ammonia water fertiliser to insert the soil layer 7 to 8 cm deep and inject concentrated ammonia. When applying dry land, deep trenches can be opened under the seeding ditch or on both sides of the crop. The diluted ammonia water is applied to the depth of 7-8 cm with a hose, and the soil is immediately covered. It can also be applied in combination with irrigation. The application of ammonia water is best carried out in the early morning of cloudy days or when the temperature is low in the evening. Generally, the amount of acre is 25-30 kg.
