The DA9061 and DA9062 PMICs can be powered from a single lithium battery or a 5V supply to meet the system's minimum requirements for processor cores, memory, peripherals, and IO power. Each PMIC can power a single-core or dual-core system processor, or it can be combined with Dialog's multi-phase sub-PMIC to seamlessly power a complete multicore system with core current requirements greater than 20A.
Paul Wheeler, vice president of ASSP Mobile Systems, said: "Efficient and efficient power management has a real impact on users' experience with mobile computing devices and embedded electronic devices. The DA9061 and DA9062 PMIC use energy-saving technology to provide our customers with A highly competitive power management solution that meets a wide range of system requirements."
The 8.5A DA9062 System PMIC has four powerful switching buck regulators, two of which can be combined to provide 5A current to the core processor. Another buck regulator can be used to power efficient DDR3 memory termination resistors. These buck regulators operate at 3 MHz, making it easy to use small external components. Combined with a small QFN40 package, the final product is guaranteed to have maximum power density.
Maximize energy savings by using a programmable and flexible timing control power state manager that uses dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) to control the buck output. The output voltage can be as low as 0.3V. Further savings can be achieved by using the 6A DA9061 PMIC when fewer power output channels are required. Its function is more simplified and contains one less DC-DC power supply.
An evaluation board with Dialog's SmartCanvasTM graphical user interface (GUI) is available now to optimize PMIC configuration during product development.
Both PMIC devices are available in a low-cost QFN package and are currently in volume production. The QFN package with exposed pad ensures that the device operates cooler than other competing products. Pre-programmed standard product versions in the automotive-grade AEC Q100 G3 and industrial-grade options are available now to power popular single-core and multi-core system-on-chip solutions.
The DA9061 and DA9062 power management integrated circuits (PMICs) from Dialog Semiconductor are available now in volume. These two efficient, cost-optimized PMICs power a wide range of processor-based devices. Related applications include handheld consumer electronics, industrial embedded, smart home and automotive systems.
