The difference between teak and black core lotus

Although the black core and the teak are similar in appearance and density, there are still large differences between the two due to the different materials. For example, plain board (common name for unpainted sheet) can be identified by the following five methods:

I. Observing the teak wood furniture made according to the characteristics of teak, the wood grain is clear, let you feel the natural characteristics. Because it contains silicon, it is difficult to polish, as if it has been soaked in oil, and the black core wood is tender and polished.

Second, the smell of teak itself exudes a sour taste, slightly like the smell after the rice cooker, and the black core rosewood does not have this smell.

Third, the burning experiment takes a small piece of dry plate for burning, the smoke emitted by teak is thick and large, while the black core is less.

4. Drip test A small amount of water is sprinkled on the surface of the furniture. If the moisture is not absorbed, the bead-like distribution is teak, and the water-absorbing one is black core lotus.

V. Destructive test The furniture sheet is observed after being immersed in water for 24 hours. If it is deformed or expanded, it is black cored lotus, and no change is teak. When consumers purchase teak furniture, in addition to the five methods described above, the merchant must be required to produce a national-level timber inspection report.
