The Standardization Office of the Welded Pipe (Welded Steel Pipe) Institute is the main drafting unit of the domestic and international standards for oil and gas pipelines. It closely follows the technical progress and product standards of the international welded pipe industry. It is the domestic technical counterpart of ISO/TC67/SC2 and is responsible for China. Development, revision and research of national standards, industry standards and enterprise technical standards for welded steel pipes; responsible for translation and conversion of API standards and tracking of new international standards. In recent years, the Institute has drafted three national standards and 16 industry standards. Since 1980, the translation and conversion API 5L has been published in eight editions.
