1. Bedford Post Hotel, New York

This was transformed by an actor, Richard Gail, and his wife, who transformed an 18th-century house. It opened in July 2009 and is located in Westchester, New York. It is a 45-minute drive from Manhattan. The hotel has 8 rooms, a restaurant and a yoga and contemplative studio frequented by Gale.

The Cardinal 11 is a chic 60-room club and hotel near London's Thames and Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, London. It is owned by Elizabeth Hurley. The hotel is luxuriously decorated with a private dining room and a personal driver.

3. Brando Hotels, Polynesia

Hotel Brando is a 35-minute drive from Tahiti. It boasts 47 superior bungalows (each with a private pool), spa and fitness centre. Activities near the island also include diving and archeology.

4. Greenwich Hotel, New York

The Greenwich Hotel opened in 2008 is owned by actor Robert Dionne and is located near a residential area in Manhattan. The eight-story building has 88 rooms and suites. The raw materials of the bamboo-made rooms were shipped from Tokyo, Japan.

5. Terraced Beach Resort, Canada

Terraced Beach Resort was founded by actor Jensen Priestley and his family in Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada. The resort is surrounded by an evergreen forest and is watched by surfers, hikers and storms. The ideal place to live. The resort also offers hot springs and some modern facilities.

6. The Clarence Hotel, Dublin

The Clarence Hotel was converted in 1992 by the U2 member Bono and Blades. The hotel is located on the banks of the Livi River and has 50 rooms.

7. Catholic Church Inn, California

The Catholic Church Hotel is located in California's Monterrey Peninsula, and was remodeled by Kelly Iswitt, Oscar's best actor and director in 1986. The hotel is a converted ranch where you can see cypresses and eucalyptus trees surrounded by meadows and long coastlines.

8. Sun Dance Resort, Utah

Sun Dance Resort is a converted ski resort bought by actor Robert Redford in Utah and is therefore a haven for ski skating enthusiasts, hikers and fishing enthusiasts.

9. Cardoso Hotel, Miami

Hotel Cardoso is located on the south coast of Miami and is owned by singer Gloria Esteve and her husband Emilio Estefen. The hotel has 43 rooms and is inexpensive.

10. Gaia Leisure Hotel, Wales

Gaia Leisure Hotel is located in New Wales, Australia. It was opened in 2005 and is partly owned by singer Olivia Newton. Located near Byron Bay, the Gaia Leisure Hotel is surrounded by rolling hills. The hotel offers a variety of fitness facilities and full spa services.
