How to improve the independent innovation ability of the domestic mold industry in terms of mode, technology and policy has become an important proposition in the mold industry. Luo Baihui said that in the innovation mode, the mold industry has original, integrated and imported, digested and re-innovated three main modes of independent innovation, and there are also successful cases, but the mold is a combination of machine, electricity, light and integration. High-tech products, CAD / CAM / CAE, high-speed processing, rapid prototyping, precision molding, super finishing, information network and other technologies have been applied, so it is more suitable for integrated innovation. Of course, the original independent innovation of some core technologies and the introduction, digestion and re-innovation of some technologies are also very important.

1. Make breakthroughs in key core technologies
Due to the variety of molds and wide application, independent innovation should choose the key points, take the lead in breaking through, and then drive the overall situation. In the next 5 to 10 years, the market should first be large, such as the key breakthroughs in automotive cover molds and large-scale, precision molds that rely mainly on imports and can represent the development direction. In order to rapidly improve the innovation capability and mold design and manufacturing level of China's mold industry, some key technologies must be broken and applied in actual production. Luo Baihui said that the mold industry has about ten key technologies that can be integrated into two major projects:

(1) Research and development and application of mold digital design and manufacturing technology and networked service platform
This mainly includes the two aspects of mold digital design and manufacturing technology (including modularization, integration, and collaborative design technology) and networked messaging platform that lead the future development direction of the mold industry, focusing on integrated innovation and applying innovation results to In production, we will achieve the goal of improving the overall level and core competitiveness of the mold industry, shortening the mold production cycle, and reducing production costs.

(2) Research and development and manufacture of large-scale precision and complex molds for automobiles
This is for the rapid development of the automotive industry, which requires environmental protection, energy saving, safety and light weight, and the need for a large number of imported automotive molds. We need to carry out innovative research on high-strength sheet hot press forming process and mold and plastic forming technology and mold, and use the results for production, so that hot press forming mold fills the domestic gap, plastic forming mold improves the level, and the current large amount of imports is subject to change. The situation thus adapts and promotes the development of the Chinese automotive industry.

The above key technologies cover most of the major areas of the mold industry, and most of them are common technologies. After breakthrough, they can be applied in the industry.

2. Guided by policies and measures
In order to improve the independent innovation capability of the mold industry, the industry and enterprises need to receive strong support from all sides in addition to their own active efforts. In particular, the active guidance and vigorous support of relevant government departments is even more important.

(1) Relevant government departments should issue relevant policies and vigorously encourage the improvement of independent innovation capabilities. First, the establishment of special funds to support the research and development and research of key technologies that have a major impact on improving innovation capabilities; second, to implement preferential taxation and payment for related enterprises, and encourage relevant units to invest in research and development; third, to guide local governments. (5) Give full play to the role of social intermediary organizations such as industry associations.
