The mechanical suit called "HAL" was manufactured by Cyberdyne Corporation and was exhibited at the "Japan Robot Week" exhibition in Tokyo on the 18th.

Because nuclear cleaners work in a strong radiation environment, they often wear heavy tungsten materials to prevent radiation. They are not suitable for long-time operations.

Although the new mechanical clothing weighs 60 kilograms, it is equipped with a sensor that monitors the telecommunications signals from the wearer's brain. Once the center of gravity is sensed, the engine will start the limbs of the mechanical suit, assisting the wearer to complete various actions and reduce the weight of the mechanical clothing felt by the wearer.

Not only that, but also the outer layer of the new mechanical clothing can block radiation, and the inner layer is equipped with a fan, which has the effect of ventilation and cooling. In addition, the computer on the mechanical suit can monitor the wearer's heartbeat and breathing.

The inventor of the Chiba University of Technology, Koyuki Koyanagi, said that this mechanical suit can be used to clean up the Fukushima nuclear power plant. He said: "We must think of ways to protect nuclear cleaning personnel, otherwise the problems in Fukushima will never be solved."

The cleanup of the Fukushima nuclear power plant is expected to take several decades to complete.
