Seven carbonated nano-calcium enterprises in Yongfeng County have different levels of dust and unorganized emissions. The big phenomenon, among which 4 companies have problems with open storage of raw materials or residues.

On June 25th, Xianyang City , Shaanxi Province announced the “Special Inspection of Air Pollution Control in Guanzhong Area, Xianyang City Feedback Question List (Second Batch)”. The problem of Yongshou County Golden Calcium Carbonate Factory is: the road between the south gate of the factory and the raw material warehouse. The dust is serious.

On May 22, Jiangxi Province Shangrao City Shuyang County Hongyu Calcium Carbonate Co., Ltd. was reported: only a hundred meters away from the residential area, the 24-hour start-up noise is very harsh; years of dumping industrial waste, wastewater directly draining the river, seriously polluting the local environment, It is extremely harmful to the local environment, and it is hoped that the relevant departments will shut down the enterprise as soon as possible.


In summary, the current problems of calcium carbonate enterprises that make the environmental protection inspection team and the people unsatisfied mainly include the following aspects:


  • Dust pollution problems in open pit mines;

  • Open storage problems such as raw ore, auxiliary materials and waste residue;

  • Dust pollution problems in production processes such as crushing, grinding, carbonization, modification, packaging, and storage;

  • Noise pollution problems in production equipment such as crushing, grinding and modification.

So, how can calcium carbonate producers improve on the above issues?


1. Open-pit mining dust control measures


The main measures for comprehensive dust prevention in open pit mines are dusting, containment-ventilation-dusting and sprinkling to suppress dust.


(1) The punching operation is dustproof. The perforation operation mainly takes wet work. Large-scale rock drills can also use dust-collecting devices to remove dust. Dust generated by shovel-loaded ore can be dust-removed by means of precipitation and dust prevention.


(2) Dust removal by the crusher. The crusher can be dust-removed by means of a closed-ventilation-dust removal method. Due to the simplicity of the process and the high degree of mechanization, remote control can be used to further reduce and eliminate the opportunity for workers to come into contact with dust.

(3) Transportation and dust removal. Vehicle dust during open-air mine transportation is the main source of dust in open pit mines. The main measures for transporting dust are as follows:


  • Sprinkle water on the rock before loading, and set up a spray device at the unloading site to reduce dust.

  • Strengthen road maintenance and reduce mines during vehicle transportation.

  • The main transportation roads in the mining area use asphalt or concrete pavement.


A mechanical sprinkler is often used to sprinkle water on the road or add a wetting agent to the water to improve the dustproof effect. It can also be sprayed with a dust suppressor to reduce dust. The main components of the dust suppressant are tracer and polymer binder, which can not only form a dustproof layer but also improve the quality of the road surface.

  • The lime kiln kiln is subjected to cyclone dust removal, water film dust removal, water and gas separation, and then enters the carbonization tower for carbonization reaction. After the reaction, the tail gas is discharged through the 15 m chimney;

  • The flue gas generated by the hot blast stove is discharged by a 15m exhaust pipe after gravity sedimentation and cyclone water film dedusting and desulfurization treatment;

  • The boiler flue gas is discharged through a 20 m chimney after cyclone dust removal and two-stage water film dedusting treatment;

  • The crushing, grinding and sieving, packaging dust, etc. are respectively discharged by a pulse bag dust removing device and discharged through a 15 m high exhaust pipe.


(4) Sealing operation


The production operating environment and each discharge port can be completely sealed. To transport and transport calcium carbonate powder by conveyor belt, closed conveying should be adopted to minimize the height difference at the position of blanking, and the roller blind should be installed on the belt head to reduce the dust when falling. Calcium carbonate coarse powder handling should be mechanized as much as possible, and the material separation device should be sealed to avoid leakage.

For example, the mechanical shaft kiln production process fully implements automatic cloth, automatic discharge and closed blast, and kiln front closure to reduce dust emissions in all directions.


(5) Wet operation


In the actual production process, the raw ore before entering the crusher is humidified, such as adding spraying equipment above the crusher, which can effectively reduce the amount of dust generated by the ore during the crushing process. Timely replacement of the blunt tooth plate, when the tooth is blunt, it will increase the contact area with the ore, forming a large pressure-fixing core, and causing a large amount of dust. After coarse crushing, try to use wet dust suppression and spray dust reduction measures.


The wet crushing wastewater, the dust removing water and the ground washing water are respectively recycled through the sedimentation tank and then recycled.

3. Noise prevention and control measures


(1) Isolation of equipment in the sections of crushing, grinding, carbonization, modification, etc., and installation of muffler to drive noise out of the building.


(2) In workplaces where the noise intensity exceeds 85 dB (A), earplugs should be provided for workers. In the working environment with noise intensity greater than 104.8dB(A) (such as near crusher, ball mill, vertical mill, etc.), only wearing the existing anti-noise earplugs can not meet the protection requirements, and the earplugs are required to be worn together.


(3) Minimize the working time of contact noise, reduce the working time in the vicinity of high-noise equipment, and adopt the rotation system if necessary.

4, factory appearance



The roads in the plant area are hardened, and the plant area and its surrounding areas are greened. Especially in the greening of production areas, it is necessary to select the tree species that have strong resistance to dust, good adsorption and sound insulation. For workshops with strong noise, it is advisable to choose shrubs with dense foliage, short crowns and low branching points.

However the terms pillow-block & plummer-block are used interchangeably in certain parts of the world.

However fundamental application of both types is the same which is to primarily mount bearings safely enabling their outer ring to be stationary while allowing rotation of the inner ring. The housing is bolted to a foundation through the holes in the base. Bearing housings are either split type or unsplit type. Split type housings are usually two piece housings where the cap and base can be detached. While certain series are one single piece housings. Various seals are provided to prevent dust and other contaminants from entering the housing. Thus the housing provides a clean environment for the expensive bearings to freely rotate hence increasing their performance and duty cycle.

Bearing housings are usually made of grey cast iron. However various different grades of metals can be used to manufacture the same.
